We are Matt and Ruth. We are founders, thinkers and writers with a passion for creativity, innovative thinking, finding patterns, and re-imagining the status quo. We've been struck by how many ideas and themes transcend our different worlds of research and education, and communications and engagement. We're excited about how wrestling with these ideas and pulling on different threads can reveal the secrets of a thriving life and ways through seemingly intractable challenges.
This blog is about disruptive thinking that is positive and constructive; ideas that challenge the status quo and reveal what’s really going on.
The ideas are born out of wrestling with how our world works and how we, as humans, work within it, sometimes seeing frustration but always experiencing awe and wonder.
This blog is an outlet and articulation of our thoughts and conversations and we’re hopeful that the posts may bring some ‘ah ha’ moments, hope for new ways of thinking and doing, and even some joy.
Disruptive Conversations
Each blog post comes from a conversation, a back and forth open ended dialogue. It's a journey to dig into a topic, explore the status quo, question it and connect dots from across our different worlds to find an underlying idea that opens up how we see the world.

We co-write each post, with one of us taking the lead each time.
little BIG ideas
Each blog has a 'little BIG idea' where we summarise the post by using only the most common 1000 words in english. We hope that this can be a starting point for conversations with the curious people you are sharing your journey with.

It's quite a challenge but one that clarifies our thinking and how we articulate it - and it's also fun!
